Art and Design

As part of our topic question, 'What did the Greeks do for us?' Class 3 made paper mache Greek vases, which depicted events from the Ancient Olympics. In history we learnt that vases were a source historians used to identify the events within the Olympics.

Physical Education

This week all the classes took part in the Cornwall Virtual Games. Normally, the children would compete against local schools, but this year the children took part in a range of activities and and submitted their results to see how well they have done compared to other schools across Cornwall

Religious Education

Class 2 visited Plymouth Synagogue to learn about Jewish festivals, Jewish practices and the Jewish calendar. The children also identified comparisons between the Jewish and Christian religions.

Science, History and Geography Field-trip

Class 2 visited Mount Edgcumbe and carried out a tree trail linked to their plants work in science, studied the building as part of their history of the Edgcumbe family and observed the physical features on this coastal estate as part of their geography.

The children had a wonderful time and got to walk for miles!

Alternative Sports Day

Today the children have enjoyed an alternative sports day organised by our Arena coaches. The children have tried a number of physical activities, including: lacrosse, seated volleyball, archery, capture the flag and boccia. The children had a great day and learnt lots of new skills.

Wellbeing Day

Today the whole school enjoyed a range of wellbeing activities run by Arena sports coaches. The children participated in sessions including: yoga, water games, clay sculpting, team games and orienteering. The day was a great success and the children had an amazing time.

Lockdown reward

Thank you very much to Mrs Hooper who entered Duloe into a competition run by Twinkl to celebrate schools who went the extra mile during lockdown! The tea, coffee and treats have gone down very well in the staff room!

Collective Worship

For the first time since lockdown, we held Collective Worship in St Cuby's church this week. It was great to be back in our local church. We listened to the parable of the sower and sang hymns as a school family once again.

Art and Design

One of our Year 5 children painted a stunning country landscape this week. She used a range of brush strokes and the way the colours complimented each other was brilliant.

Church Flowers

Three incredibly artistic children from Duloe, with the help of some members from the local community, decorated St Cuby's Church this week with some magnificent flower decorations.

The children all made their own displays using a variety of flowers.

We would like to say a huge thank you to the children who have brightened up the church wonderfully.
