Class 3 have been making the most of the Autumn sunshine by taking their classroom outside onto the playground. The children moved their tables and chairs outside while they were writing their own story openings.
It may only be the middle of October, but the children have already been getting into the Christmas spirit, by designing and making Christmas cards for the Diocese of Cornwall. The children showed off their creative skills in every class and produced some wonderful images.

We would welcome your feedback on the introduction of the new PSHE and RSE curriculum that has just been launched across the trust. As the DfE stated in July “Today’s children and young people are growing up in an increasingly complex world and living their lives seamlessly on and offline. This presents many positive and exciting opportunities, but also challenges and risks. In this environment, children and young people need to know how to be safe and healthy, and how to manage their academic, personal and social lives in a positive way. (Gavin Williamson Secretary of State for Education). The documentation can be found on our website here. Please use the form on the website to leave feedback by the 22nd October. Thank-you.
This week Class 1, 2 and 3 have all had assemblies based on the guidance from the NSPCC and Childline. The children learnt about speaking to a trusted adult adult if something made them uncomfortable. As the posters show, they also learnt about PANTS and the underwear rule.
Childline is there to support children. Whatever your worry, you can talk to them. It's free, you don't have to tell them your name, and you can chat about anything.

Class 1 have been very busy learners this week. Reception, with the help of Andy from Arena, have been improving their riding skills in their bike-ability sessions. Year 1 have been developing their addition skills in maths, looking at different number bonds. As a whole class they have been learning lots of amazing facts about dinosaurs and also had a visit from the Cornwall Music Service Trust to test out their musical skills.
The Cornwall Music Service Trust will be working with us every week to provide expert music lessons in school. The children had an amazing time during their first session and their new music teacher was very impressed with the children's singing and rhythm.
As part of Class 2's project, 'Can we still explore?' they have been creating their own maps and using map reading skills to locate key features around the school.
Exploring our senses in Wild Tribe – Class 1 have been taking time to look and listen, making clay faces with autumn treasures and eating popcorn and hot choc made on the campfire!
In one of this weeks maths lessons, the children used their chars to create an outdoors coordinate grid on the playground. We play games where the children had to reach certain coordinates as fast as they could, competing against one another.
It has been an absolute delight, to welcome back all of the children after the summer holidays. The weather has been kind, which has helped to get all the children outside and make the most of our wonderful environment. All of our new children have settled in fantastically well and already feel part of our school family.
Thank you all for your support with the pick up and drop off times. Everything seems to be working smoothly. As always, any feedback to improve things is always welcome.
